My cooking talent is best described as surprisingly intuitive,… mostly because I make it up as I go along, and it’s a surprise when it works, but I love to cook, and I would have loved to be on stage at this event.
The second annual Culinary Showdown, produced by industry icon Joel Hock & his talented team at Solutions With Impact [SWI] & nominated for “Best Event for a Community-Based Charity,” was a wonderfully creative, active event.
The Showdown brought together an all-star lineup of 5 celebrity chefs who were joined by the top 50 fundraising foodies to compete for the coveted Culinary Showdown Trophy raising money for Epilepsy South Central Ontario.
This extraordinary challenge allowed culinary enthusiasts to raise money for a chance to cook alongside celebrity chefs in a MasterChef-style competition as seen on TV!
This year’s top fundraisers were joined by Chefs Massimo Capra, Lynn Crawford, Claudio Aprile, Nicole Gomes, and John Cirillo for a one-of-a-kind cooking competition.
Kicking off the day at Chef’s School, qualified participants learned the tricks of the trade with private cooking lessons from the all-star master chefs and ended with the Culinary Showdown, where teams compete against one another to deliver the ultimate dishes before the clock runs out.
Meanwhile, gala attendees watched the on-stage action and enjoyed a gourmet meal.
The team at Solutions With Impact did a great job raising over $400,000 to support families affected by Epilepsy in the community.
Congrats to everyone who helped make this event a great success, & good luck at the Canadian Event Awards Gala from Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex on Sept 28, 2022. The CEA Gala is the last event of CSE Live 2022, EventFest, Canada’s premier event for Canadian event professionals and can be found here.
