Rita Plaskett, CMP, CMM, has been in the meeting industry for over 30 years. She is one of the few Canadians to hold both the CMP and CMM designations. Rita is the principal in her meeting management firm called “Agendum Inc.,” specializing in a strategic approach to flawless delivery of meetings and conferences from cradle to grave. Before opening her firm, Rita was a Senior Consultant in Meetings Consolidation, as well as the Manager of Operations for the Automotive Group for Maritz Canada. Before her time at Maritz, Rita held positions as the Director of Conferences for The Pinnacle Group and as the Director of Conference, Education, and Public Relations for The Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.

Rita has been a teacher at George Brown College in the Hospitality and Meeting Management Program for 10 years and in 2006 won the “Award for Teaching Excellence.” She has served as the Past Chairwoman of the MPI Global Foundation, as well as the Past President of the MPI Toronto Chapter, CanSPEP, and BEICC (Meetings Means Business). Rita chaired the MPI Foundation Canada Economic Impact Study 3.0 initiative, lending her experience as Chair of the first Economic Impact Study to this new initiative. She has been awarded both the Toronto Chapter Planner of the Year and the MPI Toronto Chapter’s President’s Award, as well as the Award for Teaching Excellence from George Brown College and the Excellence in Leadership award from CanSPEP. Rita has been inducted into the Hall of Fame for M&IT.
